I have lots of friends who, now that they are parents, say, "I have no idea what we used to do together before we had kids!". Here it is:

July 4th
Grant & I kicked off our Fourth of July weekend with a get-together with some friends at one of our favorite restaurants, Iguana Grill. The Grill sits on top of beautiful Lake Travis. Their Mexican food, the sun, and the view make it one of the best places to eat in Austin during the summer.
Me with our small group leader, Kelli.
Grant and Chuck, another one of our buddies from small group. Chuck and Grant raced together in the Rookie Tri, back in May. They also bike a bunch together. Lake Travis, one of the prettiest places in Texas.

Sporing my summery wear! On the way home to get ready for more fun on Saturday!
On Saturday, we parked the truck on top of Grant's parking garage at work and had the perfect spot for fireworks. Katherine & Josh, our neighbors came with us.

June-Grant's Birthday
On June 6th this year, Grant turned 27! On that morning (a Saturday), he went for a 35-mile bike ride with some friends. I got up early and decorated for him and got him a special birthday treat for breakfast.
That afternoon we met up with some friends at one of Grant's favorite mexican restaurants, Chuy's. Justin, Grant's office-mate and his wife came, along with our neighbors Katherine and Josh. (Josh looks slightly like he's wearing a pirate hat. Ha ha!)
Afterwards, we went back to our place and had people over for cake and fun. (Icecream cake, to be exact. I don't know how Grant and I have been together since 2002 and I just now figured out that icecream cake is the way to his heart!) Carly, one of my girls from work, and I posing in my fancy new truck outside while we all celebrated Grant and the big 2-7.

May-North Carolina with the Qualley Family
In May, Grant's parents flew us out to North Carolina for a week at a lake house. The house was HUGE and there was plenty to do. We spent most of the time boating, tubing, swimming, eating, playing games, reading, and taking naps. :) It was a much-needed get-away and the Qualleys, as always, had a blast together and laughed a lot!The lake house came complete with a pontoon boat so we took full advantage! Duke and Dad were perfectly happy just driving around the lake.
The houses on the lake were quite impressive. This particular house had a heli-pad!I, not being the greatest of drivers, was a little rough out on the lake. I think I made the guys nervous. :)
The boys were so fun to watch when the tubed...or wiped out. ;)
I was a bit ridiculous on the tube. Going...going...
gone!

In the middle of our week, Grant & I drove up to Richmond to visit my dad's side of the family. Here is Grant with Aunt Mylene, Mommom, and our Uncle Toad. (Grant's first time to meet this particular aunt & uncle.)
Here are the Qualleys with Mommom. She was so excited to get to visit with us. :)
While in Richmond, we picked Caitlin up for the airport. She has to fly in later that everyone else but we were so excited to see her!
The Qualley kids fishing from the deck.
The Qualley girls together again! We were all more than a little surprised that Caitlin actually braved the lake.
Caitlin: "This water smells like frogs!"
Qualley sisters, enjoying the lake together.
Captain Qualley :)

We did lots of fishing on this trip. I caught four fish! None of them were big enough to be keepers, but I was still proud of myself. Grant: "That's just a little guy."
More tubing fun...or in Grant's case, just hanging out!
Grant & I obviously need to purchase a boat one day. This is the life!
