Wedding Weekend-Part IV (The traditional after-wedding water-park)

What hits the spot after three hours of dancing at a wedding reception? If you said, a water-park complete with tube slides, a lazy river, wave pool and hot-tub, then you'd be right! Immediately following the reception, we all quickly changed into our swim suits and met up for some play time at the Great Wolf Lodge water-park.

Dad & I after Grant & I kidnapped him for some tube slide fun!The proud mothers of the groom & bride.

Ryan & his girlfriend, Erin.

To me, this sums it all up, but I'll explain. Erin had a swim suit made that says "Mrs. Semprun" on her bootie. Well, what do you know. That does basically say it all.

My favorite bride.

Chris & his buddies. (All of the "big kids" loved the water-park. They were gone the entire time playing.)One final picture of Erin & her girls.

Wedding Weekend-Part III (Time to dance!)

The Melson/Semprun wedding reception will probably go down in history as one of the BEST/MOST RIDICULOUS receptions ever. There were so many laughs, dancing, more laughing AT the dancing, and memories galore. This is probably my longest post, to-date, but worth putting together so that everyone can share in the memories or re-live them.
Ryan performed "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz for Erin & Chris.
Mr. & Mrs. Semprun's first dance.

Father/daughter dance.
And then the dancing began for everyone else...

I told you I'd make you famous, Mom.

The Cupid Shufffle.

I loved Chris's mom even more when she came out to do the Cupid Shuffle with the girls.
Some couples decided to get out on the floor and show us how it's done. Ryan & his girlfriend, Erin, and Chris's grandparents boogied!
One of the best...errrr...most memorable dancers of the night...my dad.
No one can resist "Ice Ice Baby" at a wedding reception.

The Melsons are known for their amazing moves.
Cake time!

Ryan & Grant decided they were ready to hit the water-park!A bride & her matron.
Kathleen, one of Erin's best friends, shows Chris some moves that he LOVES.
Bouquet time!

Kristin, our old roomie, caught the bouquet! And maybe bumped her head or messed up her hair? Not sure which one. But this picture is hilarious!

Grant & Grandpa wanted a special bouquet picture. They are special guys...

Garter time! (All the single guys let the bouquet drop in front of them before someone finally picked it up. Looks like Chris is the only one getting married for a while!)

YMCA with Chris's Grandpa Joe!

Grandpa Joe was one of the hottest dancers at the reception. He had moves!

Wedding Weekend-Part II (Here comes the bride!)

After an early morning of hair appointments, checking into the hotel, decorating the ceremony & reception rooms, and getting ourselves ready, the time had come for Chris and Erin to get married! Their wedding began at 1:30pm and as Erin finished getting ready, she truly looked like a princess.
The entire weekend, Erin was extremely relaxed & seemed completely at ease with her big wedding plans and ready to get the show on the road. :) Even as we walked up to the big double doors and we snapped one final picture as Miss Erin Melson, she was all smiles.
Our Grandpa Marshall officiated the wedding. Grant said that as Chris came in and saw everyone sitting in the ceremony, he began to cry. What a sweet day!I served as Erin's matron of honor and Chris's Grandpa Joe stood as his best man.
The ceremony lasted about ten minutes. There were happy tears from both the wedding party and the guests. As Erin & Chris said "I do", our dad came up and prayed with both of them. After Grandpa announced "Mr. and Mrs. Chris Semprun", Erin & Chris walked back up the aisle to "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" by the Darkness. Very fitting! I was the first to enter the lobby where Erin & Chris were waiting to greet their guests. I found them hugging tightly and whispering happily into each other's ears. I have never been so truly happy for my sister.

As the guests came out and congratulated the bride & groom, I watched Chris & his mom embrace and cry joyful tears. This was a day that we'd all hoped and prayed for.

Erin really was the prettiest bride I'd ever seen. After family pictures were taken, it was time to head to the reception. You can tell I was ready to eat some lunch and put on my dancing shoes!
As we all made our way to the reception, Erin & Chris went off to have more pictures taken. It was no surprise that as they made their way down the hotel's lobby staircase, they turned a few heads.

Wedding Weekend-Part I

Last Friday night began a weekend of wedding fun for Erin & Chris. We'd all been eagerly awaiting January 10th and here we were, having dinner as a newly-formed family the night of January 9th. Since Erin & Chris decided to have a small wedding at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, there wasn't a whole lot of "rehearsing" to do beforehand. As a result, Mom & Dad hosted a pre-wedding dinner at their house on Friday night. Having an intimate family dinner with Erin & Chris gave the in-laws a chance to get to know each other. With Chris's family being true-blue New Yorkers and our family having been in Texas for over sixteen years, it was truly two different worlds coming together. And though so different, we were able to share a lot of laughs, stories, and create some new memories together.
