July Flashback

Grant & I realized we had not been home to DFW since EASTER. How is that possible? So we made a quick trip home in late July to visit the family and spend some quality time together.
My "little" brother & I.Uncle Ryan & Big Tex (This dog is beyond loved!)

Erin & I went to Woolley's Frozen Custard to visit Ryan at work (I think he was ready for us to leave when we started throwing pennies at him while he worked the drive-thru.)
Erin & I took Maggie, Gabe, and Tex to the park to play. Tex usually doesn't tolerate close-space with his cousin, Gabe, but I think the allure of the car-ride was all he needed to settle down and be nice.
Cousins at play :)

Before Grant & I headed back down to Austin, the family went to dinner at Babe's. If you don't know about Babe's, you are advised to drive straight to Grand Prarie and bring your appetite. Best fried chicken in Texas!

Radney Foster Concert (For you country lovers!)

On July 15th, Katherine and I went to see Radney Foster at the Hills Cafe here in Austin. Katherine, being a huge Radney Foster fan, made sure we were in line (106 degrees that day) outside the door a few hours before the show started. We sweated and waited and sweated some more but it was all worth it to get to this spot near the stage.

Radney Foster is a country song-writer who writes for alot of the big names (Keith Urban - Raining on Sunday, Sarah Evans - Real Fine Place to Start, Pat Green, Cory Morrow, Kevin Fowler, Randy Rogers, Brandon Ryder and more). For his birthday, a local country radio station hosted Radney's birthday concert at the Hills Cafe. The concert was predominately Radney Foster with visits from special guests who sang their famous songs with Radney. It was definitely a big moment in country music and for the small price of some much-needed bottled water (and maybe a hamburger), I got to be there!
This video is of Radney Foster singing a new song about our fallen soldiers. I loved it immediately. USA!

And at the end of the night, Josh proposed to Katherine!
Congrats, you two!
